Bitcoin was introduced to the world on October 31, 2008, when an anonymous person or group using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto published the Bitcoin whitepaper titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System".
The whitepaper proposed a decentralized digital currency that operates without banks or central authorities, using a peer-to-peer network and cryptographic proof instead of trust.
On January 3, 2009, Satoshi mined the genesis block (Block 0) of Bitcoin, embedding a message referencing bank bailouts: "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks."
This message wasn't random — it was a direct commentary on the 2008 financial crisis and the failure of centralized banking systems that required taxpayer-funded bailouts.
Bitcoin was designed as a response to the fragility of the traditional financial system, offering an alternative that cannot be inflated, censored, or controlled by any single entity.
